and friday look more promising, in terms of rain, as well as the weekend. good morning, santa rosa, fog and 39, and napa at 39, and 47 by the delta livermore and 50 in hayward and los gatos and 42. we are starting out with a few clouds around, and that is keeping the temperatures up in san francisco and oakland, and 51 in oakland, and 48 in san carlos and 47 in san jose. it was really cold yesterday morning and we were so warm in the afternoon. today, changes come in with cooler afternoon highs, and a few more clouds in the sea breezes, well, the sea breeze should pick up by the afternoon, a lot like yesterday. so, with a little bit of fog this morning, we are looking at some of the visibility reduced in napa and santa rosa, and talking about partly cloudy and cooler this afternoon, with a better chance of rain toward the end of the week. santa rosa is quarter-mile visibility, and four miles in napa and the rest of the bay is fine but we are warming this morning than yesterday. in fact, we are six degrees warmer in oakland and two degrees warmer in san jose. high pressure is still holdi

in santa rosa. napa also reporting fog this morning. 40-degrees in walnut creek. temperatures up by a few degrees. around the bay area starting off similar to how we woke up yesterday morning. 41 palo alto. 45 outside your door in belmont. and again that little bit of patchy fog there. the on shore breeze will make its way back later this afternoon into the early evening hours. for the time being we continue with this northerly flow. you can see a close up view of the satellite and radar. the high clouds that continue to sweep across the area. this will be the case for today. the ridge of high pressure still in control of our weather pattern. it will shift right over the west coast and we'll remain here for today. as i back this up a little bit farther this system here will be what will plow into the ridge. this system will ride over it. it's not going to bring us any rain but it will cool us down. it will strengthen our on shore breeze. and tuesday night into wednesday perhaps a little bit of rain. so today 70-degrees expected for santa rosa. 67 for berkeley. low 60s in san francisco. up

a raceway crash that killed the 14-year-old boy from santa rosa this weekend. marcus johnson died when his 17-year-old cousin chase lost control of a sprint car and crashed right into the pit area at the raceway. the johnson family now said chase tells him the steering wheel in his car came loose as he entered a turn. that ultimately caused the crash. the family said that car was new. at this point it's not clear why the wheel would come loose. the crash happened while chase johnson was driving warm-up laps for an upcoming competition. >>> we are on stormwatch. meteorologist christina loren is standing by with a look at potential rain onot potential, there is rain coming to the bay area. >> right, there is. i've been wrong before, but not many times. it is happening, got to be honest. temperatures are looking pretty good. nice and mild. all the cloud cover overhead subtropical moisture. feels muggy, tropical. last day of winter. it's going to feel winter-like tomorrow for the first day of spring. temperatures getting close to the 70 degree mark just about everywhere. here our counterclockw

will climb to 60 degree territory for livermore, napa, santa rosa. all this out bay communities by 2:00 p.m. looks like the yellow appears on the screen but i believe that will stay out of the bay area. say goodbye to the '70s. by 8:00 p.m. tonight a good mixing of upper 40's and low 50's. for the breakdown, after the high schooler today the san francisco is 61 degrees. upper 60s for napper concord fairfield, 68 antioch. satellite and radar shows cloud cover streaming into the bay area. we have areas of locally dense fog. sea breezes keeping temperatures on the cooler side as we head into the afternoon. it looks like tomorrow will be very similar to what we saw yesterday. as we head into wednesday, up we are talking a mix of sun and clouds. your extended forecast shows the potential for wet weather. a 20 to 30 percent chance. models are starting to back off, perhaps some light rain thursday into friday. into the weekend, we are talking possibly rainy conditions. i will have the full details and your 7 day around the bay forecast in my next report. 6:51 a.m. and here is george. >> have to
